Analysis and Recommendations:

The GBP/USD retreated to trade at 1.6093. The pair had been fairly quiet over the past few days, as the risk aversion mode was in full force, but today, the UK had a few eco reports, that all gave disappointing results. Consumer confidence continued to fall in the UK as well as PPI and Core PPI all reporting in under forecast.

The drop was offset by the movement out of the USD to a bit more risk after the US confidence report came in well above forecast.

Markets built a bit of confidence and investors were able to step in to the deeper end of the pool, moving into other assets and away from the USD, but only slightly.

The euro picked up a few pips, but gold and crude remained depressed.
