Analysis and Recommendations:

Gold climbed today adding over 20.00 to reach 1569.15.

Overall market sentiments continue to reel under pressure from the lingering euro zone financial crisis and, weak economic indicators from Euro Zone and China added additional pressure over the markets. Euro Zone composite PMI, a combination of manufacturing and services, fell to its lowest since June 2009 in May. Meanwhile, HSBC China manufacturing PMI indicated contraction too in May intensifying concerns over the faltering economic growth in the world’s top consumer of metals and crude oil. Spot gold was seen paring the losses it incurred in the morning trades by afternoon, probably aided by softening dollar which retreated from its 20 month high levels.

The day continued with negative eco data throughout Europe and the US, the jobless report was close to forecast but the total number of claimants fell supporting the theory that many people have exhausted their benefits but not found work. Durable goods were reported under forecast.
