In an interview with the the TimesOnline journalist John Arlidge a few weeks back, Goldman’s CEO Lloyd Blankfein said Goldman was doing “God’s Work.” That shot was heard around the world.

At a Conference in NY, he said that Goldman Sachs has “participated in things that were clearly wrong and have reason to regret. We apologize.”

Is doing wrong in the securities business criminal? Does doing wrong violate securities laws, or have the laws on the books been so gutted you could drive a truck through them?

And if Goldman Sachs did things that were wrong, might oh say just about every other large financial entity have done wrong too.? Just wondering, because no one has been prosecuted for doing wrong for what they did to cause this financial crisis.
