Would the real inflation data please stand up?

The first regression chart plots the inflation data the government reports while the second one uses the data from Shadowstats and the difference couldn’t be more wide.

Given that we really have no way of knowing which chart we should be focusing on to be safe we’re probably somewhere in the middle.
