I traded with less hesitation this morning, and my trade management was a little better. At 10:30am I was down about -$10 gross and then my internet connection died with an open position – what I thought was 100 shares short. I had an order to sell another 100 shares short at a higher price that I didn’t think went through. The stock rose a little over the next hour as I watched from my phone and got ready for a bunch of appointments. I can call my prop firm to liquidate positions but wanted to avoid that as they said not to do that often. Over the next couple hours, I got caught in a couple major traffic jams and was running late to everything, as the stock I was in short broke out. Little did I know I was down $250 at one point because the other order did go through – I’m a proud owner of 200 shares short overnight I just found out a little while ago. I tried to get my wife to close the position over the phone at 3:45pm, but the internet was still down even though the Comcast technician was in the house saying it was now working. At close, I was down $45, a little more now in after hours.

I have to solve these issues so I can focus on dealing my psychological and strategy stuff, which is hard enough!

I signed my lease and got the keys to my new office today. I have to move all my stuff over there. I’m trying to negotiate with Comcast to give me a better fee and waive the installation fees on high-speed commercial internet but so far they want to gouge me. Hopefully, I will get the office connected soon. I MUST have a back up internet connection as well. Unfortunately, with an I-Phone I can’t tether my AT & C network from the cell to the phone. So it looks like maybe a Verizon mobile card will be the way to go, only one so far that will give me a 1 year contract with tiered usage plans. I have a new computer with more processing power but my tech guy can’t build it until next Thursday. I need the upgrade as my old E-Machine can’t handle my charting software, and right now I’m running it through my laptop but then one of my screens are not great for charts. On top of that, the software I use is notorious for freezing under the best of conditions but I can’t tell how much it is the program or the old computer and intermittent connection.

SO, I’m going to take a break from trading again until I get set up at my new office with the commerical internet as well as a back-up link, and maybe until I get my new computer up and running…

I’ll post the results of my trades today over the next couple days. We’re going out of town for mom’s day as well.

ERRRRR……….
