Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC) was recently awarded a four-year contract by United Utilities, one of the United Kingdom’s largest water companies, for the provision of AMP5 topographical and utility surveying services.
California-based Jacobs Engineering is one of the leading providers of professional, technical and construction services to industrial, commercial and governmental clients. The company provides its services through offices and subsidiaries located principally in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The company’s services are offered in four areas: Construction Services, Project Services, Operations and Management, and Process, Scientific and Systems consulting.
The agreement is valued at approximately $2.5 to $3 million, with an expected total period of six years. The base contract period is four years with a two-year extension option related to performance.
Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is expected to provide technical services which include topographical, hydrographical and measured building surveys, utility location and mapping, 3D laser scanning surveys, deformation monitoring, GPS network design and production of high specification 3D model drawings.
Jacobs earlier won a technical and project management services contract from Jubail Chemical Industrial Company Ltd. (JANA), a wholly owned subsidiary of chemicals and petrochemicals sector operator, NAMA Chemicals.
The financial details of the contract were not disclosed. Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs will assist JANA’s existing epichlorohydrin plant expansion and new epichlorohydrin plant at Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
Jacobs technical and project management services include inside battery limits, which will boost the existing plant’s capacity. Outside battery limits services will cover all utilities and the tankage area. Further, these services will lead to an increase in the capacity of epoxy resins production to 240 ktpa at the Jubail site.
