As mentioned previously, I have started posting quite regularly on Facebook, Twitter and StockTwits – anything from five to 15 messages a day. The items are always concerned with topical economic and financial market issues, web links and graphs, and rarely about useless personal stuff.

The social media sites fill a very important communication gap as short snippets often don’t warrant blog posts, but are nevertheless important for investment decision-making. Whenever possible, I also attempt to link the messages to specific exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by including ticker symbols. Interestingly, people seem to comment more readily by means of a sentence or two and this should also be of interest to the rest of my Facebook friends and Twitter and StockTwits followers.

For those Investment Postcards readers not doing so already, consider joining me as a friend on Facebooklink . You can follow my “tweets” on Twitter by clicking here and on StockTwits by going here.
