Back in London again, we managed to get out of Paris despite an unannounced railroad strike by the French cheminots, which happily did not affect the Eurostar cross-Channel line. The British railroad union promised to behave lest Labour lose support from inconvenienced voters and also excluded the Chunnel trains from their threatened strike.
