Personal Spending and Income Growth Rates Begin to Flatten out; Savings Slows.
Germany CPI (momSA): Mar-Prel +0.4%. Regional data is +0.5% vs expected +0.3%. March’s seasonal adjusted data subtracted 0.1% from the unadjusted last year, so that would give a +0.4% preliminary reading but sometimes the adjustment is adjusted with the final reading. Germany CPI six-month smoothed growth rates: Mar-Prel +1.6%, Feb +1.0%, Jan +1.1%, Dec +1.4%, Nov +0.8%, Oct +0.4%, Sep -0.1%, Aug +0.2%, Jul -0.6%.
It’d be interesting to call Muller Data and ask what they are pricing the average GO muni at and what’s the average for the US. It’d be interesting to see what the average GO is relative to 10 years ago. Ken Engemann is still there last we heard, so might be worth a call as he always has an interesting view point. Munis might give a better idea of the economy that S&P’s rating for the US.
