March Madness kicks into full gear today! So I’d like to propose a little basketball and stock question.
Which team do you think is going to win it all and which stock is most like that team?
This is a little harder to answer than it sounds, but my picks are Indiana and Stone Energy Corp. (SGY).
Both Indiana and SGY are value plays. It’s been a couple of years since Indiana was in the tournament and SGY is fairly inexpensive based on numerous valuation measures.
I feel both Indiana and freshman Cody Zeller have definitely exceeded expectations and SGY has too by beating earnings estimates for the last 4 quarters.
Indiana also has gathered some momentum this year going from 12-20 last year to 25-8 this year. SGY is up 14% in the last 52 weeks and about 17% YTD.
So what are your picks?
