The U.S. Bureau of Labor reported earlier that March’s non-farms payroll data showed that only 120,000 new jobs were created last month, well below the consensus forecasts of 203,000. February’s data was upwardly revised to show 240,000 jobs had been created during the period. The unemployment rate fell to 8.2% from 8.3%, though forecasts expected it would remain unchanged.
