Net Foreign Purchases for March increased to $140.5 billion, following a February increase of $47.1 billion, from $15 billion in January. Net foreign purchases of long-term U.S. securities were $157.7 billion, $125.0 billion of which were from private foreign investors and net purchases by foreign official institutions were $32.7 billion. U.S. residents purchased a net $17.1 billion of long-term foreign securities.
