Monster Worldwide, Inc. (MWW), the parent company of Monster.com, recently released a new job search mobile application for the Android platform. The company already has applications for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Monster continues to strive hard to increase the number of products in its portfolio and provide customers a more comprehensive “searchability” feature for jobs through new product introduction and multiple alliances with other companies.
Monster has also developed a Chrome extension for the Google Chrome browser. This new extension will automatically check for jobs posted on Monster based on the URL visited when a user is browsing using Google Chrome. If jobs are found, a Monster sidebar appears and displays the number of jobs.
Earlier, Monster integrated HotJobs, a leading online recruitment website, into its own website. The HotJobs site and related products and services have now been migrated directly onto the Monster platform.
In August 2010, Monster completed its acquisition of HotJobs for $225 million in cash. HotJobs was previously owned by Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO).
With this integration, Monster is now expected to provide access to a customer base of 46 million with over 25,000 new resumes added to its job site everyday. Monster’s combined newspaper network currently includes over 1,000 daily and weekly papers in all 50 states in the United States.
Per the terms of the deal, Monster and Yahoo! have also entered a three-year commercial traffic agreement, whereby Monster will become Yahoo!’s exclusive provider of career and job content on the Yahoo! homepage in the United States and Canada.
We currently have a Neutral recommendation on Monster WorldWide supported by a Zacks #3 Rank.
