Harris Corporation (HRS) won a 30-month, $25 million contract under the Network-Centric
Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle. As per the terms of the contract, Harris will upgrade network infrastructure at 15 Air National Guard (ANG) sites by providing an integrated, high-bandwidth, structured cabling system.
Air National Guard, the air force militia, operates in units in 50 states and U.S. territories. The ANG is governed by its respective state or territorial government and can be entrusted to control any domestic emergency or disaster.
Harris has also won another contract worth $30 million to enhance public safety communications in Monroe County, New York. The company will set up the P25 trunked emergency radio communications system and terminal equipment under the contract.
The contract will be executed by Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications, a business unit of the company’s RF Communications segment. Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications supplies assured communication systems and equipment for public safety, federal, utility, commercial and transportation markets.
