MRVC-logo.gifA slight decline yesterday, yet a stock doing much better than back in August – this is MRV Communications Inc.(PINK:MRVC) this week. After the all-time low, a steady rise has began, yet to see how much longer it would continue. MRVC-15.09.11.png

It all depends on the perspective, actually. A few months ago, MRVC used to trade close to $2 per share. Yesterday, the session closed below $1.4 per share. Now, what is more interesting is the good news that came out recently did not have much of an impact on the stock market. At least, not near the same as the 2.9 million shares hype in August.

Basically, it is press releases mostly affecting the stock price. The balance sheets, however, have their piece of action as well. The last one, in particular, came out in the middle of the free fall that led to the all-time low share price of $1.17, including the following, among other figures:

  • $152 million cash;
  • $283 million in total current assets;
  • $84 million in total current liabilities;
  • $1.2 billion in accumulated deficit;
  • $2.4 million in net loss;
  • $68 million in total revenue; [BANNER]

Now, the figures above reflect the performance during the second quarter of 2011. They also reflect a level of uncertainty which is still a factor when making an investment decision about MRVC. In terms, while appealing to one type of investors, it might be appalling to others.
