Natural gas prices declined on Thursday after the EIA report for natural gas inventories showed U.S. stockpiles rose for the first time since November 5, noting that traders were speculating that cold weather conditions will lead inventories to drop.

The EIA released the weekly natural gas storage change for the week ending March 25, where the report showed that natural gas inventories increased by 12 billion cubic feet, compared with the prior week’s drop in inventories of 6 billion cubic feet, and well above the expected decline of 2 billion cubic feet.
