Analysis and Recommendations:

Natural Gas continues to trade strong, giving back only a few pips after its gain the end of last week. NG is trading at 2.866. Price of natural gas has increased significantly since the month of April’12 and gains on the Nymex in the month of June ’12 stood around more than 17 percent.

Demand for the commodity has boosted in North America on account of a heat wave and the unusually hot summer weather had helped uplift the price of natural gas. Overall, the commodity was witnessing a bearish trend earlier on the back of high supplies but an improvement in demand due to increased usage in air conditioning helped support upside in prices. During last winter, demand for the commodity was subdued on the back of a mild winter and had the summer not been severe in the current season, prices would have declined sharply due to the existing supply-side scenario.

The upside in natural gas prices is expected to continue in the short-term due to supportive fundamentals on the demand side
