Navigant Consulting Inc. (NCI) recently announced the joining of Michael Kennelly and Rob Wentland as managing directors in its Disputes & Investigations practice in Chicago. With these recent hirings, Navigant seeks to strengthen its potential in the arena of complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, tax controversy and financial advisory services.
Kennelly had a twenty-five year old leadership career at both international accounting and specialty consulting firms. He is also the chairman of HFS Chicago Scholars, a non-profit corporation, which he founded in 1992. Complex commercial litigation, especially bankruptcy, valuation and solvency-related matters are Kennelly’s areas of expertise.
Wentland has earned a reputation in simplifying complex accounting damage calculations. His 20 years of experience include working with outside counsel, in-house counsel and high-profile management committees. Wentland has also proved his expertise in complex commercial litigation, domestic and international accounting investigations, international tax controversies and regulatory rulemaking.
In the second quarter, Dispute and Investigative Services revenues declined 16.8% year over year and 5.9% sequentially to $63.9 million. However, Business Consulting Services and Economic Consulting revenues registered a modest growth. Under this scenario, we believe the competent guidance of Kennelly and Wentland will provide a meaningful support to complex disputes and investigations and help Navigant to grow in the coming quarters.
