Consumer Confidence figures are expected today at 10:00 AM. Consumer Confidence had increased to 50.2 in October from 48.6 in September. The Present Situation Index increased to 23.9 and the Expectations Index increased to 67.8. Consumers’ appraisal of current market conditions was mixed but the short-term outlook was less pessimistic than that in September.
