Analysis and Recommendation

The NZD/USD is trading at 0.7884 after fears of a global slowdown hit the kiwi hard. The kiwi had been climbing on local positive eco data and growth numbers but made an about turn this morning. With poor PMI numbers in China and Europe yesterday and a downwards revision in US growth by the Feds, the NZD just could not muster the strength to remain high. The USD has surged since the Fed announcements on Wednesday as investors moved from gold back to the greenback as their choice for safe havens. Risk aversion has once again become the central theme of the markets.
