Let’s take a little bit of a different direction than most with this next blog post. If you’ve been a long time reader of this blog you’ll know that I’m not a fan of Obama and his policies, and it has absolutely nothing to do with his political party. I want to clarify a very important point as not to offend anybody regarding my political stance. I am a political atheist as I firmly believe that fundamentally there is no difference between the Republican and Democratic party. I believe the “party system” does nothing more than to separate the masses into groups that politicians can play off of one another.
Politics are very much like wrestling that you see on TV where it appears they have different agendas and are on opposite sides of the spectrum, but after the cameras go off they joke, have drinks, and talk about how gullible the public are and how much money they make as career politicians. Maybe at one time our Government served it’s people but right now it is the people that serve the Government. If this article has any truth to it, we’re all in deep trouble as entrepreneurialindividuals who strive to better ourselves financially through the equity markets. I’m sure Agora Financial would have had a field day with this article since this was at the root of what the conference was about.
This article was written by Wayne Allyn Root, who apparently was a classmate of Obama at Columbia University. I’ve never heard of this guy until I read this article tonight so I have no insight as to his agenda, if any, to write this article. I’m sure it’s because he’ll be running in the Libertarian Party in 2012, but you better have your facts right when you put out a piece like this. The gist of it is him describing his fellow classmates and I’m sure he’s not going to be attending any class reunions after this piece.
My classmates — virtually to a man and woman — hated America and considered capitalism to be evil. They loved unions and hated business owners. They hated conservatives and capitalists most of all, because anyone who defended the system was an enemy to this group of radicals. Even more disturbing was their open hatred toward white people and what they called “this racist nation” — even though most of my classmates were white.
These classmates of mine seemed normal in every way — except for their obsession with killing capitalism, wanting big government to take over business, and stealing wealth in the name of “fairness.” Other than that, you’d swear they were normal. They looked good, they were well-spoken, they were brilliant intellectuals, and they possessed incredible resumes. To any normal person who met them, they represented the American Dream.
These are the people now running the country. My classmates, with their unnatural hatred of fiscal conservatives, anyone who runs a business, or anyone who wants to keep more of their own money, have now gone on to great things. As I read of their exploits in Columbia’s alumni magazine, it is clear that my classmates now enjoy success in the most influential fields in this country — law, media and politics. One of them now runs the country.
There, my friends, is the crux of the economic disaster now facing America — virtually every problem in this country can be traced to the ignorance, arrogance, prejudice and dysfunction of lawyers, the biased liberal media and politicians who understand nothing about entrepreneurship, capitalism, small business or job creation. They have an unnatural hatred of all the very things that make America great.
Given how the Government has handled this entire financial crises it’s not improbable what Wayne is suggesting. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shaken my head in disbelief when I hear what the White House is planning to do or has already done. Maybe Doug Casey is right when he says we’re headed for the (Great Depression, which will be caused by more Government taxes, reckless spending, regulations, and the blatant debasement of the US dollar causing inflation to rise.)
He further adds that the inevitable and uncontrolled collapse will be fueled by the following factors:
Fed will gain even more power
The war machine will continue on
Government will get bigger
More taxes are coming
Debt levels will continue to rise
Can’t wait to hear the feedback on this post as it really came out of nowhere. I just started typing and the next thing I knew it was 1:30am….
