Pepco Holdings Inc. (POM) announced that its unit Pepco Energy has been selected to carry out a complete survey of the Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta, Georgia, to ensure the conservation as well as proper utilization of energy.
As per the contract, Pepco Energy will take necessary steps to find out the baseline energy costs and check the lighting, water and energy management controls systems of these buildings. Apart from checking and giving suggestion on best usage of the existing system to save energy, Pepco Energy will also recommend usage of renewable energy source that can lead to guaranteed savings.
Pepco Energy may also consider and suggest building envelope improvements and window replacements that will not only add to energy conservation but increase the comfort of occupants. These energy savings initiatives are aimed to lower the energy consumption in state facilities by 15 percent by 2020.
Previously, the Pepco Holdings unit signed a contract worth $3.9 million with Franklin County Housing Authority based in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. As per the contract Pepco Energy will install a variety of energy and water saving measures, including new heat pumps that will save the housing authority $5.4 million over the 15-year contract term, plus improve the heating and cooling system of each unit.
Pepco Holdings Inc.’s operating earnings in the fourth quarter and fiscal 2010 exceeded the Zacks Consensus Estimates. The company expects earnings per share for 2011 to be in the range of $1.10 to $1.25. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2011 is presently pegged near the high end of the guidance at $1.22 per share.
