Home Stretch – November 1, 2010
With Halloween now gone that means that the final two months of 2010 are beginning. November also markets the start of the historically best 6 months to be long the equity markets. The markets were quiet this past week while waiting on the results from this week’s election and the Federal Reserve’s two day meeting. We expect a fairly quiet market until the outcomes from these two events are known.
The election will be held Tuesday with Republicans expected to gain more seats of Congress and the FOMC will likely have some comments to be digested possibly even pertaining to QE2 or the second round of quantitative easing. It is also entirely possible that the large percentage rally since September has priced in much of the results. A wait and see approach is warranted.
