JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Federal regulators plan to discuss why a train hit a bus stuck on a Mississippi railroad crossing in March 2017, and what can be done to prevent another accident like the one that killed four Texas tourists.

The National Transportation Safety Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday morning in Washington, D.C., to discuss findings on the crash in the Gulf Coast city of Biloxi.

Ahead of the meeting, investigators released
factual reports
showing local officials and railroad CSX Corp. knew the crossing was a trouble spot. That information does not appear to have been reflected in the GPS mapping program the bus driver used.

Biloxi officials have since banned trucks and buses from the crossing.
