Ya gotta love the headline below. Clearly, lots of important folks are tiring of the ongoing debt crisis in Europe, and clearly, the clock is ticking loudly.
G20 Tells Eurozone To Fix Debt Crisis In Eight Days
As I said, in my Sunday piece (Trader Ed Newsletter), I am not an alarmist, but I do so want to ward off the penetration of corporations as long as I can, even though I know the “fight” can only end one way. One reader disagrees and takes issue with my “tirade.” His lucid and rational response is a testament to thoughtful and civil argumentation …
At times, I love your optimism, it’s delightful, it’s uplifting, and it’s encouraging to say the least. But, so what if companies are gathering information about me So what if they know what type of books I read, or where I like to spend my holiday Somebody somewhere, has a job and is making a living, and you must admit at times they can have useful products for you to try.
Are you not just sick and tired of all those pessimists who think the world is on a mission to invade their fragile privacy And breach their so called human rights and what not! Instead of celebrating the modern technology for what it is and what it can be. Let me ask you a question – How many times have you heard that the surveillance cameras all over the town are breaching people’s freedom, privacy, and human rights etc., and how have those intruding cameras helped police solve some of most heinous crimes
In conclusion, I know that I, like majority of the people that I know, have nothing to hide, so what, if my data is collected, my picture is taken etc. I look at it as a price to pay for living in a large community that by choice I would like to be a part of, as opposed to the other option of taking a life of reclusion, living in a cave, and having nothing to do with nobody. Think about it! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoy your articles, and have a great deal of respect for your thoughts. Thank you for sharing them.
And I for your thoughts as well. Thank you for sharing …
I don’t think the world is on a mission to invade my privacy; I think corporations who want to sell me something are on a mission to invade my privacy. Even though I have nothing to hide, it bothers me when I receive unsolicited emails, phone calls, and snail mail. What irks me more is that someone, somewhere thought it okay to gather information about me and then sell or trade that information for their own gain. Nefarious, no, but unscrupulous surely.
Think about this. If someone paid your neighbor to tell him what time you and your family ate dinner, and then that person called at dinner time every night for three nights to sell you a product, how would you feel about your neighbor profiting at your expense That’s how I feel about the folks who make money selling what they know about me.
Trade in the day – Invest in your life …
