Forexpros – Consumer price inflation in Switzerland declined unexpectedly in November, easing for the second consecutive month, official data showed on Tuesday.
In a report, the Swiss Federal Statistics Office said consumer price inflation dipped by 0.2% in November, after easing by 0.1% in October.
Analysts had expected Swiss consumer prices to rise by 0.1% in November.
Year-over-year, Swiss consumer prices fell at an annualized rate of 0.5% in November, after declining at a rate of 0.1% in October. Analysts had expected year-over-year CPI to ease at an annualized rate of 0.3%.
Following the release of the data, the Swiss franc held on to losses against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF climbing 0.7% to trade at 0.9271.
