Forexpros – The number of people employed in Switzerland declined less-than-expected in the final three months of 2011, official data showed on Tuesday.
In a report, the Swiss Federal Statistics Office said that the number of employed people in Switzerland fell to a seasonally adjusted 4.04 million in the foruth quarter of 2011, down from 4.05 million in the preceding quarter.
Analysts had expected the Swiss employment level to decline to 4.03 million in the fourth quarter.
Following the release of the data, the Swiss franc held on to gains against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF shedding 0.37% to trade at 0.8959.
