After the trading frenzy from the end of April, this month North Bay Resources (OTC:NBRI) settled around levels of $0.09 per share. Yet, it is possible that a one-day hype is coming again since there is a catalyst in place. A catalyst, quite common in the penny stock world, yet not often used for North Bay.

There is a certain pattern when promotions come out. The more uncertain and risky an investment – the higher the amount of money third parties pay promoters for their newsletters. In this aspect, the last promotion of North Bay that came out yesterday after the session could be a relative source for optimism. The money paid the promoter is $8,000 and the information inside is more or less  of informative purposes, rather than set to inspire dreams. Of course, all in all, when promotions come out, a red light should also appear when an investment decision is to be made.

As mentioned, currently the company stock gravitates around $0.09 per share. The session yesterday was one of little trading activity, and very little change in the stock price. Since the promotion came out late, it is possible that any effect on the stock market gets visible today. On a broader scale, the results which could push this stock higher than ever are yet to come. The name associated with the eventual rise is the Ruby Mine in Sierra County. The reputation of the Ruby Mine is actually also a point not to be overlooked. The C.L. Best Collection of gold nuggets, which is now on display in the LA Museum of Natural History, is taken from this mine somewhere in the 1930s. So, it is not a question of whether there is potential for North Bay to make its shareholders happy, it is rather a question of actually going the extra mile. And it seems that the management is willing to do that. Yet, as a recent press release mentions, it would be June when North Bay goes for a purchase of Ruby. In fact, while everything might go well, it is yet several more months to pass before actual production is shown to secure investor confidence. It is yet to see whether this penny stock will be an exception to the rule or a typical example of how even inspiring enterprises on the OTC can fail.
