East of Eden? No, Wisconsin! What a bunch of crybabies. Don’t you folks realize, the money has failed. You are all dreaming. Wake up. Start thinking austerity. Ask Granma and Granpa, who went through the Great Depression, to sit you down and give you a sharp dose of reality. You are broke! Your State is broke! Your city and county are broke. And not only are you broke, you’re stupid! Did you read my book when I tried to tell you 30 years ago, to read Article 1, section 8, and Article 1, section 10? Did you listen to me 30 years ago, when I ran for the Congress? No, you were too busy voting for a Democrat hack, a Mayor Daley robot, who couldn’t understand two words of the Constitution if they were back to back. Shame on you, you are We, the People, and you had power then, but now you are screwed. The Good Book says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. Well, the knowledge is right there, in front of you. But did you ever do anything with it? No, you let some black-robed high priest or Scribe (lawyer) lie to you about what the words meant. Never mind it is written in some fairly plain, straight forward English.
Now, let me tell you what is going to happen. Any entity below the Federal level, cannot produce any “money”. The Feds can’t produce “money’ either, but they think they can. So, they will produce (i.e., print) the stuff, and the more they print of it, the less it will be worth. So, the price of goods and services will go to the moon. The cost of everything is going to the moon. Bread, for example, will eventually cost you a day’s wage. Despite their best, sincere efforts, arguing over pensions and wages will end up in civil strife. Expect riots and clashes, police mowing down the people with water cannons and rubber bullets. Despite cutting spending, the American standard of living will descend to below 3-world status. We expect gold and silver to skyrocket, and for the stock market to crash. The government’s will be between a rock and a hard place, they cannot raise taxes and they cannot reduce services and they cannot cut salaries. It will be chaos.
Do the best you can to survive. Put in a garden, store food, you must be prepared to protect your family and property, as the police and fire will be at home, protecting it. Interest rates are going through the roof. Ammo will probably become an item of barter and currency (I said it 20 years ago, the 22LR round will be extremely valuable). We are short the stock market (long the inverse). There is no solution to the monetary crisis, short of going back to silver and gold, and I don’t see that happening. Hunker down, folks, the bad times are no longer coming, they’re here.
