Fifty thousand here, twenty five there – these are the usual numbers Cosworth pays for people to be reminded of AAPH. This week is no exception. Heavy volumes, little change in the stock price, usually a decrease, immediately after a promotion. This is Monday. Thursday, it is a low volume and a slight increase. But, after all, it would not be a real end of the week for American Petro without Cosworth appearing on the scene again. As the promotion states – “just watch”.
Nevertheless, one can just as well watch the balance sheet. Interesting data can be found in the one with an end date March 31st this year. Among it is the fact that at that point of time the company had 15 times less cash than what Cosworth pays to have it promoted. Actually, the total current assets of the company in March were less than what the promotion cost this Monday. Which leads back to the question – what would happen to this stock if there is no third party to pay for promotional support? [BANNER]
The interesting thing here is that American Petro Hunter often releases information about the new projects of the company. Let alone, just yesterday a press release came out which mentions the name Grass Roots Research – a company which set a price target for the stock just above $1. It is yet to see how this could be achieved, since AAPH currently trades at $0.37 per share. There had been only two occasions in the whole trading history of the company when levels above $1 were achieved, but the stock could not hold them for more than a few days. It was back in 2010. Many things have changed since then, but not everything for the better, one example being the quarterly statement. Which means it is with caution that investment decisions should be taken regarding American Petro Hunter.
