Watchlist: HOG JRCC XLNX APH IVN SNDK NOK MOS CSIQ STEC CCK PLCM MAR SLT

Nice to recover after a couple losing days….in terms of my short-term trading objectives:

1) I did a little more prep this morning and looked at charts some between 9:30am – 9:45am, though I was rushing to complete a small work task that took me right up to the opening bell.

2) My hesi-trading was reduced today: I got some orders in for a couple set-ups like JRCC (long) and MOS (long) but they were not filled because of price moving fast and my desire not to chase. I have to decide how aggressive I want to go with entries like using wider limit orders above the ask or even market orders on fast moving stocks. In general, the first moves of the days are some of the strongest, so I need to be ready to swing right away.

3) Letting my winners run – that still needs more work. With SNDK, I waited to take my partial order as per my guidelines, but made my trailing stop fairly tight to preserve some profits. It’s remained about twenty cents from my entry so if it breaks out later, I will will miss-out. NOK I took a .07 partial scalp to relieve stress and to ensure the trade was breakeven if the stop order was hit on the remaining shares). Right now, the stocks have not made big moves so the decisions are holding up now. Like extending a single into a double in baseball- staying in a stock to let it develop into a larger profit is a very contextual decision, but in general, I need to take more chances by staying in trades longer.

With NOK, I made an order mistake but it didn’t cost me and kept me in the trade longer, like $12! Finally, my sloppiness pays off.
