It appears we have one more day before I get to the Dow Theory. Today, I am getting back online after having my computer operating system corrupted from the MWS_Trojan virus. This virus is from Russia, and apparently it is tricky. Somehow it attached itself to a software download from a major, international software company. Of course, they deny it, but the fact is that when I rebooted after immediately downloading and installing the software, the corruption happened. Anyway, I am back up, but I just thought you should know …

The shortened topic for today is learning, materials. You would not believe how many questions I have received asking me essentially the same thing—where do I get started learning about trading?

In the past, I have answered that this site offers free books, articles, commentaries, and webinars. I reiterate this response. You will be hard pressed to find another site anywhere that offers what this site does in the way of a FREE education about the markets and trading.  So, if you are one of those who have asked me this question, please check out this site thoroughly. It is as good as any place to start your learning process. As well, this site offers much for both intermediate and advanced traders alike.

When I first wanted to learn how to trade, TraderPlanet did not exist, so I found other resources. Certainly many books abound out there, and I have told you all finding a mentor is exceptionally important, but if I had to pick one thing that helped me learn the big and small picture, I would have to say SFO Magazine.

True, many magazines exist that discuss markets and trading, and I have seen most, but SFO Magazine has impressed me more than any other for its ability to penetrate, clarify, and make accessible the weighty topics of the trading world. As a writer and educator, I can tell you the writers and editors of the magazine work hard to deliver the information in an easily digestible format. As a “newbie,” I learned so much from reading SFO. In fact, the reason I am writing this today is that I still receive and read the magazine. In fact, again, the latest issue has a remarkable article discussing the dollar, and I have to tell you it opened my eyes to some new thinking about where we might be headed in the forex market.

Anyway, all of the above is good news for you, if you want to become enlightened about the world of markets and trading. But you know, just when you thought something could not be better, along comes just one more thing to upset that apple cart. SFO and TraderPlanet both practice the same philosophy—education about the world of trading and markets should be free. Yes, just like TraderPlanet, the valuable information you receive from SFO is free. How does one do better than that?

Check it out. You will find value, and, after all, isn’t value the one thing we all seek in common?

Trade in the day; invest in your life …
