What picture do you paint about yourself in your head as you trade the markets?

I like to paint the picture of a quarterback. My favorite quarterback is Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. Here’s Russell Wilson’s quote about being focused,

“When I’m in the zone, I always say, ‘Laser focused,’ ” Wilson said. “So for me, I want to be laser focused when I’m out on the field, and for that three hours of that time period, I want to be the most focused person out on the field that I can possibly be. …That gives me a better chance to be successful.”

A quarterback has a plan of action before the ball is hiked to him. As he reads the defense he changes up his plan of action and looks for the best opportunity to advance the ball down the field. Each play comes with measured risk looking for a gain of yards to eventually bring the ball into the end zone.

Trading is not black and white and yes and no; it’s reading each day different and seeing the best ways to advance your P/L. I won’t trade tomorrow like I traded today because each day is different and each trade setup is unique. Learn to be your own focused quarterback on the field of the markets. Learn to focus and read each day as it comes to you and you will begin to foster the needed skills to succeed. Focus is everything in anything you do in life.

You are not guaranteed success at anything in life but you can create an environment which can help foster success.
