Forexpros – U.S. stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.18%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.04%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.06%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. personal spending rose to a seasonally adjusted 0.6% last month from 0.2% in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected personal spending to rise 0.6% last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.59%; Germany’s DAX gained 0.13%; Britain’s FTSE 100 declined 0.20%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.59%.
