Forex Pros – U.S. stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.31%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.41%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.45%.
Earlier in the day, industry data showed that Pending home sales in the U.S. fell more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted -11.6% last month from 3.5% in the preceding month whose figure was revised down from 5.1%.
Analysts had expected Pending home sales to fall to -1.0% last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 0.86%; Germany’s DAX gained 0.69%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.98%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.70%.
