Forex Pros – U.S. stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.

At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.43%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.38%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.34%.

Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. non-farm payrolls rose more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 244K last month, from 221K in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from 216K.

Analysts had expected U.S. non-farm payrolls to rise 185K last month.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 1.33%; Germany’s DAX gained 1.56%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.96%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.90%.
