Forexpros – U.S. stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.66%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.57%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.85%.
Earlier in the day, preliminary data showed that U.S. UoM consumer sentiment rose more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 57.8 last month from 55.7 in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected UoM consumer sentiment to rise to 56.0 last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.48%; Germany’s DAX gained 1.18%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.58%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 0.52%.
