Forex Pros – U.S. stocks were up after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.36%, the S&P 500 index gained 1.44%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 1.56%.
Earlier in the day, industry data showed that The U.S. ISM manufacturing PMI rose unexpectedly to 55.3 last month from 53.5 in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected the ISM manufacturing PMI to fall to 51.5 last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 0.63%; Germany’s DAX gained 0.59%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.74%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.95%.
