Forexpros – U.S. stocks were down after the closing bell on Friday.

At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.18%, the S&P 500 index shed 0.82%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.69%.

Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. non-farm payrolls rose more-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted 103K last month, from 57K in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from 0K.

Analysts had expected U.S. non-farm payrolls to rise 53K last month.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed higher. France’s CAC 40 was up 0.66%; Germany’s DAX gained 0.54%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.23%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.91%.
