Forexpros – U.S. stocks were down after the closing bell on Thursday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.03%, the S&P 500 index shed 1.19%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 0.98%.
Earlier in the day, industry data showed that The U.S. ISM manufacturing PMI fell less-than-expected to 50.6 last month from 50.9 in the preceding month.
Analysts had expected the ISM manufacturing PMI to fall to 48.5 last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed at close. France’s CAC 40 was up 0.28%; Germany’s DAX shed 0.94%; Britain’s FTSE 100 climbed 0.45%; and the EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.16%.
