Forexpros – U.S. stocks were down after the closing bell on Friday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 2.20%, the S&P 500 index shed 2.53%, while the Nasdaq 100 index declined 2.31%.
Earlier in the day, official data showed that U.S. non-farm payrolls remained unchanged unexpectedly at a seasonally adjusted 0K last month, from 85K in the preceding month whose figure was revised down from 117K.
Analysts had expected U.S. non-farm payrolls to rise 74K last month.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed lower. France’s CAC 40 was down 3.59%; Germany’s DAX shed 3.36%; Britain’s FTSE 100 declined 2.34%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 3.81%.
