Analysis and Recommendations:

The USD/CAD is trading at 1.0198 in early morning US trading. Canada’s trade deficit grew a small bit in May, as exports were relatively unchanged from the previous month and imports increased 0.4%. Statistics Canada said that Canada’ trade deficit widened to CAD 0.8 billion in May, compared to expectations for a deficit of CAD1.0 billion.

The U.S. trade deficit narrowed in line with market expectations in May, as exports inched up 0.2% and imports fell 0.7%. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis said that the U.S. trade deficit narrowed to a seasonally adjusted USD48.7 billion in May from deficit of USD50.6 billion in April.
