Analysis and Recommendations:

The USD/CAD is currently trading at 1.0191 as one of the only trading partners of the USD that has climbed today. The USD has been weak throughout the day on expectations that the US FOMC will introduce additional monetary programs.

USDCAD has maintained its decline below 1.0200, however further losses have yet to be seen. In this environment, even oil prices and equity futures are seeing limited movement, suggesting a widespread desire to ‘wait and see’. There are no domestic data releases today, leaving CAD to trade in line with broader market sentiment. However, the remainder of the week contains two high level releases (retail sales and CPI.
