While the well-documented EU struggles are known, many have been relying on a relatively strong U.S. economy to justify the gains in recent months. As long as there are good corporate earnings; we should be okay, right?
But, we have seen several major companies warn about the upcoming quarter and even lower guidance as a result. Intel lowered its revenue target and narrowed its expected gross margin, which should worry investors.
Texas Instruments gave a weaker outlook, as did Du Pont. So, this could be the beginning of a trend, but it could be just a few outliers.
