The “Chart of the Day” is Las Vegas Sands (LVS), which showed up on Wednesday’s list of stocks that had a new “Buy” signal from the Barchart daily “Trendspotter(tm)” trading system. LVS on Wednesday rallied sharply by 5.58% and posted a new 3-week high. A rally above the 22-month high of $27.84 posted on June 21 would be a particularly bullish technical signal. Wednesday’s sharp rally was prompted by the very favorable Q2 EPS report of 17 cents versus the consensus of 9 cents. Las Vegas Sands, with a market cap of $17 billion, is a hotel, gaming, and retail mall company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company owns The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Venetian Interactive, an internet based venture, and Venetian Macao Limited, a developer of multiple casino hotel resort properties in The People’s Republic of China’s Special Administrative Region of Macao.
