The answer you seek depends on how “big” of a day trader you seek to become. I have seen systems with four monitors, and I use one large one, 21 inches. The answer also depends on how much work you want to do when actually trading. Think about it … If you have four monitors going simultaneously, you have to be watching four monitors simultaneously. That is more work than I want to do. In any case, buy the highest quality monitor you can afford, especially if you are going to be watching it for hours on end. Here are some other thoughts …
Consider having your computer custom built specifically for trading. Ask for the maximum amount of memory, the fastest processor, a graphics card that can handle huge amounts of graphic data, and dual hard drives for redundancy. This means if your hard drive crashes in the middle of some serious trading, you need to switch seamlessly to another. Of course, a large hard drive is helpful as well.
If you want to make it simple, and your funds permit, consider buying a “made-for-trading” computer. In fact, do what I did and type into Google “computers for trading stocks.” If you do this, you will know what I know … Go do some research …
One last thought for you … Make sure you have a stable Internet connection and high Internet speed, especially if you are trading with information on four monitors at one time.
