The S&P/Case-Shiller 10-City Home Price Index decreased by 0.2% in November, after remaining unchanged in October and increasing by 0.5% in September. Over the year, the index has fallen by 4.5%.The S&P/Case- Shiller 20-City Home Price Index also decreased by 0.2% after decreasing by 0.1% in October,  revised from earlier figures which showed that it was unchanged, after increasing by 0.4% in September. Year over year, the index is down by 5.3%. This month’s data marks approximately 10 months of improved readings, beginning in early 2009.

Consumer Confidence now stands at 55.9 for January, an increase from 53.6 in December, better than the expected increase to 54.1. Assessment of present-day conditions was more positive.  The short-term outlook was also more positive, but with mixed results.
