6KBLB_chart.pngKraig Biocraft Laboratories Inc (PINK:KBLB) may have an exciting session today. Yesterday a promotional newsletter was received and the compensation alone is enough to draw significant attention to KBLB.

Last Friday was not the most active day for KBLB. With just 591 thousand shares changing hands, the price went up 2.56% to a close at $0.12.[BANNER]

As mentioned, KBLB appeared in a newsletter yesterday. The promoter disclosed the compensation for the profile was $100 thousand, and they were expecting another $200 thousand for ongoing coverage.

Up until now KBLB hasn’t had paid promotions. Perhaps, the company feels that it has something to offer to investors at this point. Since the start of 2011, KBLB has had some significant events.

The company is engaged in the development of recombinant technologies. So far KBLB’s most impressive achievement seems to be the breakthrough they had in September last year, and the subsequent developments have all been connected to it.

Together with the University of Notre Dame KBLB managed to genetically engineer silkworms that produce artificial spider silk. Recently the company entered into a licensing agreement with Sigma-Aldrich to use Sigma-Aldrich’s technology to accelerate its research.

The financials of KBLB look like a lot of other development stage companies, but with the current developments, that may change at some point.

KBLB_logo.gifIf KBLB’s silkworms can actually produce large quantities of artificial spider silk, and the company manages to commercialize its product successfully, KBLB shareholders may be in for a treat. That, however, is not a certainty at this moment – just a possibility.
