January has come and gone, which means only one thing: We have announced the winner of our Guess the Dow contest! H. David Allick, DDS of Rockville, MD was the lucky winner of $2,009 cash and $10,000 in VantagePoint trading software. Dr. Allick will be donating a portion of his winnings to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) as well as putting some money aside for his trading account. For the month of February we will be featuring a new Valentine’s Day inspired contest. Contestants will guess the closing prices on Friday, February 13, 2009 for these sweet stocks: Hershey’s, 1-800-Flowers, Victoria’s Secret, and American Greetings. The TraderPlanet member who guesses the closest to the actual close of all four stocks will receive $250 cash and other prizes valued at $100. Also, TraderPlanet will make a $100 donation to the American Heart Association on behalf of the winner.
